Marriage of Oba Nani And Shango
Obatala had spoken to Shango in advice more than anything else. Shango as the good son, listened to his father speak as he knew is was Olodumare speaking through Obatala himself. As Obatala spoke to him Shango also knew he was to obey weather he liked the words or not , they had to be followed. “I think it is time that you should take a obini (wife) to take care of you and your Alafin ( palace) , since you are the role model of this kingdom”. Shango lowered his head to his father and replied
Although Shango was content with Oya , he knew that his fathers decision was for the best of the kingdom, as well he felt a certain delight that it was Oba Nani that he had chosen for him. Shango had seen her before in the Alafin of Obatala and he knew next to Oshun it was her exotic beauty and voluptuous curves that made him tingle with delight . As Oba entered the room , he felt his whole body tremble inside. Their wedding was a great event in the kingdom , it was indisputable that she was beautiful and seductive. Upon her head Oba wore many Gele ( head scarves) that where her signature piece of her crowning beauty. Oba had long braided hair down to her waist, her skin was was brilliant deep ebony black giving her the look of royalty, her body and face where extremely beautiful . Her eyes where big and expressive and her lips where those meant for seduction of any male in the kingdom. Yes, Shango found he was perplexed by her beauty and kindness of his future Obini (wife). All knew that together their unique qualities would bring the kingdom benefits beyond imagination Shango would bring fire, prophecy, dance, strategies of war and battle, understanding, the art of love making and the drums for the music to the orisa. His Obini Oba Nani would bring the kingdom culture, the art of the hearth of the home, music , math and everything relating to teaching and education . Obatala felt this was the perfect union by which all would benefit in the times to come- even till the end of time. No one suspected or saw the gleam of Fire within the eyes of Oya , who at that moment knew she had to have Shango back even if it was at the cost of her sister Oba who she had grown up with and loved . With her teeth grinding in her mouth to keep her lips from parting she smiled on. Her mind churning the ideas and weakness’ of both , she soon would release her plans upon the unsuspecting newlyweds.
