Blood Flows Through The Veins
When Oshun was born , the blood started to flow in the veins of the inhabitants of the kingdom. Here lies the importance of this Orisa.
From her early age Oshun lived in her Alafin ( palace) the Ile Tinibu ( the river) where she became a great and loved queen as she cared for all those in the kingdom. She shared in the kingdom’s development doing all she could for its evolution and progress. With Yalorde’s birth came a wondrous time to the home of Obatala and Yemaya. Oshun was much loved and respected , and a new sweetness spread throughout the kingdom as her laughter and liveliness was contagious to all those around her. Yemaya knew these times where fleeting for her hands as new Araye ( problems) would begin and plague the lands of the kingdom. Oshun saw her mothers change and it filled her with sadness , to know that her mother had unjustly suffered with all she had done for the kingdom . It was Oshun who was closest to her mother and the one that gave her such joy and love. Oshun loved her mother in return and respected her more than any other in the kingdom of Olodumare.
